Adapting to changing legislation
On the 6th April 2006, the government made changes to the pension rules in the UK. These changes are intended to simplify the pensions options available to individuals, making pensions a more attractive choice.
Of course the flip side for financial institutions such as Winterthur Life UK, a major DVA client, is that they have had to restructure their businesses – and therefore their websites - around new kinds of products and services.
DVA was asked to help re-structure Winterthur’s web presence, reducing six or so different sites supporting different products down to a single cohesive, simple to navigate site. The consultancy we provided included:
-
Managing and facilitating card sorting workshops to derive the site structure Reviewing and revising newly published Winterthur design guidelines for the Internet. The UK site offered an early opportunity to test these guidelines. DVA produced proof of concept clickable demos that fixed and, in some cases, enhanced elements of the guidelines. Providing a suitable Content Management System solution that would deliver the functionality, security, compliance and most importantly, the speed of implementation required. Building a clickable prototype site that demonstrated the site structure, navigation and functionality in action. This provided the client with a realistic platform on which to test the site. Consulting to third-party, financial software developers, providing advice on user interface design.
